Five questions to ask before buying
A short, specific message can help resolve the gaps in a listing. Ask only for information the seller has not already supplied.
1. What are the actual measurements?
Ask for the dimensions that determine fit, and specify how you would like them measured. For a shirt, that might be chest width laid flat and shoulder-to-hem length.
2. Are there flaws not visible in the photos?
Name the issues that matter: stains, holes, odors, repairs, missing fasteners or damaged seams. Request a close-up when the answer raises a question.
3. Has it been altered?
Hemming, tapering or other alterations may change how a familiar style fits. Ask for current measurements instead of assuming the original label is still an accurate guide.
4. Can you show the care and fabric labels?
Use those details to decide whether the fabric and cleaning needs suit you. If the labels are missing, treat the material as uncertain rather than guessing from a photograph.
5. What happens if it does not fit?
Check the stated return policy first. Clarify any ambiguity about the return window, postage or condition requirements before buying. Keep messages and payment within the marketplace so the transaction has a clear record.
